On all toner cartridges and drum units it is best to vacuum them out before you refill them, if they have never been refilled before. To get more toner, drums or any other items needed go to All Supplies at the top of this page. FULL REFILL ON THIS TONER CARTRIDGE 1.) Using a small flat head screwdriver, and gently pry up on the door hinge with the spring to remove the drum shutter door from the waste bin in Fig, A. Do the same to the opppsite door hinge and carefully remove the shutter door.
.) The cartridge halves are held together by a pair of retaining pins you will see in Fig, B one on each end of the toner cartridge. The cartridge pins will cause damage to the PCR cradle if pushed in; therefore they must be removed from the inside and pushed out. The method of removal in these instructions will cause some minor damage to the cartridge shell, but will be ok and not visible when done.
.) Once the shutter door is removed you can see the area on Fig, C & D that needs to be drilled out, so that you can push the cartridge pins out.
.) Using a 3/32" drill bit carefully drill a small hole into the plastic housing where the cartridge pin is located in Fig, C. Repeat this process on the opposite side of the cartridge where the second cartridge pin is located in Fig, D. 5.) Once the holes are drilled in the cartridge pin locations you will be able to see the end of the cartridge pin in Fig, E. Use a small punch or angled tool to push the pin out from the inside of the cartridge in Fig, F. Push the pin out enough so that you can get a pair of pliers on the pin once it is free from the internal hosing to fully remove it.
.) Remove the screw that secures the OPC stabilizer in Fig, G. Once that is done carefully remove the OPC Drum in Fig, H then remove the PCR in Fig, I.
.) Remove the two screws that secure the wiper blade in Fig, J. Remove the blade and replace if necessary. Remove all residual toner from the waste bin. Check Mylar recovery blade and ensure that it is not creased or damaged. Clean or replace PCR and OPC and reassemble in reverse order.
.) Remove one screw from the end cap on the gear end side of the toner hopper in Fig, K. This is where the cap will be you will pull out to pour the toner into the hopper side of the toner cartridge.
.) Now you can reassemble it.
