On all toner cartridges and drum units it is best to vacuum them out before you refill them, if they have never been refilled before. To get more toner, drums or any other items needed go to All Supplies at the top of this page. FULL BRACK DOWN REFILL ON THIS TONER CARTRIDGE
.) First you will need to remove the two screws that hold on the end cap. Be careful of the gears falling out during the removal of the end cap.
.) Remove the end cap. Look at the position of the gears before removing them. They are not attached to the cartridge. Now remove the gears and set them aside. 3.) Clean the electrical contacts located in the end cap.
.) On the opposite side of the toner cartridge, remove the three screws and remove the end cap then set it aside. (Fig. 3).
.) Remove the single screw that holds the stabilizer plate in place. This plate holds both the developer roller and the toner transfer roller. NOTE: Take care not to lose the small compression spring that protrudes from the toner cartridge. It is attached to the metal stamping on the dr. blade.
.) After the stabilizer plate has been removed, make note of the orientation of the toner adder roller and developer roller.
.) Remove the developer roller to remove the excess toner located in the hopper. ( Fig, 6 ) NOTE: Do not lose the white bearings on the end of the developer roller. 8.) Wrap the developer roller in a lint free cloth for protection. 9.) Remove the top cover over the Dr. blade. ( Fig, 7 ) You pull back on the top cover and gently unhook it from its anchor point slightly behind the blue colored push tabs. 10.) To clean the toner transfer roller, manually rotate the roller while vacuuming it off at the same time. Dry filtered compressed air may also be used with the vacuum. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the Dr. blade or the developer roller sealing blade. 11.) If you are going to ship the cartridge then now you may like to read the shipping seal info HERE. NOTE: If you decide to seal the cartridge, be aware that the developer roller felts are attached to the edge of the dr. blade, as well as underneath the developer roller sealing blade. There is a chance that you may damage these components during the sealing process. If this happens, you will need to replace them. 12.) If you are not going to seal the toner cartridge, pull out the toner hopper cap and finish cleaning out the residual toner with a vacuum. Fig, 8.
.) After cleaning the hopper, reinstall the developer roller and associated components. Then refill with toner. 14.) Last you will need to replace the smart chip you see in Fig, 3 and then you're done and ready to print.
.) Now you can reassemble it. And your ready to print.
