On all toner cartridges and drum units it is best to vacuum them out before you refill them, if they have never been refilled before. To get more toner, drums or any other items needed go to All Supplies at the top of this page.

SHIPPING SEAL INFO ON THIS TONER CARTRIDGE

You can not ship the cartridge anywhere with out a SHIPPING SEAL put in place.

NOTE: If you decide to seal the cartridge, be aware that the developer roller felts are attached to the edge of the dr. blade, as well as underneath the developer roller sealing blade. There is a chance that you may damage these components during the sealing process. If this happens, you will need to replace them.

1.) To install a seal, first remove the Dr. blade. To do this, remove the two screws on each end of the blade, as well as the seal that hold it in place. Fig, 1.

2.) Carefully remove the developer roller felts, which are attached to the blade, as you will need to reuse them if you do not have any replacements. If you do not have a replacement felt, leave the lower part of the felt attached to the underside of the developer roller sealing blade. NOTE: Be sure to completely detach the adhesive when removing the seal. Failing to do so may cause damage to the blade when attempting to remove.

3.) Before installing the seal, remove toner seal channel plug by simply pushing it out from the inside of the cartridge. After installing the seal, push the plug back in over the top of the seal pull tab.

4.) To remove the toner adder roller push the metal shaft from the geared side of the toner cartridge and pull up from the other end. NOTE: Before removing the toner adder roller, the small foam O-ring that is attached to the underside of the felt. More than likely, the O-ring will disfigure during the removal process of the adder roller. Do not throw it away! You will need to reuse/repair it if you do not have a replacement. This component helps stop leaking from the corners of the adder roller. You will notice that there is a heavy felt washer on one end along with a small plastic locking tab, do not loose either of these.

5.) After removing the toner adder roller, clean the area where the seal will be making contact with the cartridge, Fig, 4 .

6.) To install the seal, pull the release liner to expose the adhesive. Then lay the seal down in a slow even motion. NOTE: Make sure that the seal pull tab is facing the seal port plug that was removed earlier.

7.) Once the seal has been laid into the cartridge, go around the perimeter of the seal and push downward to ensure that the seal is making a good solid contact with the cartridge.

8.) If the seal has been installed properly, fill the cartridge with toner. Don’t forget to reinstall the seal port plug.

9.) Last you will need to replace the smart chip you see in, and then you're done and ready to print.
