On all toner cartridges and drum units it is best to vacuum them out before you refill them, if they have never been refilled before. To get more toner, drums or any other items needed go to All Supplies at the top of this page. FULL BRACK DOWN REFILL ON THIS TONER CARTRIDGE
1.) To release the toner hopper section of the toner cartridge, remove the two screws as indicated in Fig. 1.
2.) NOTE: Be careful as there may be toner remaining in the hopper. 3.) You will pour the toner into the hopper hafe of toner cartridge before you place it back on the toner cartridge. NOTE: Read all the refill info before you do this part of the refill. 4.) It is best to clean out the waste toner each time you refill your cartridge.
5.) NOTE: The waste hopper section contains the PCR, PCR cleaner, wiper blade and chip. 6.) To release the waste hopper section, remove the two screws holding it in place as indicated in Fig. 2. Set the waste hopper section aside. It will be processed later.
7.) Remove the three screws that hold the end-cap in place on the non-geared side of the toner cartridge. Do not remove the end-cap. (Fig. 3)
8.) Before removing the end-cap, remove the OPC protective shutter from both end-caps. NOTE: Be careful not to lose the recoil spring. (Fig, 4)
9.) Remove the end-cap from the non-geared end. (Fig, 5) Clean the contacts on the inside of the plate and set it aside.
10.) Remove three of the four screws on the end-cap (Fig, 6).
11.) It is recommended to thoroughly clean the OPC axle of grease before reapplying any other lubricant. 12.) Gently pull the end cap and OPC axle out of the toner cartridge. Before removing the OPC (Green Cylinder) from the toner cartridge, remove the developer roller drive gear from the gear train.
NOTE: Do not lose the small drive belt that is connected to the developer roller drive gear. 13.) Remove the gear support plate from the toner cartridge. Be careful as some of the gears may fall off.
14.) Before removing the drive gears, note the proper orientation. Remove the gears.
It is recommended to replace the OPC at each cycle to ensure optimum performance. 15.) Remove the OPC (Green Cylinder). (Fig, 10)
16.) To properly clean the toner adder roller and the dr. bar assembly, remove the small locking plate on the side of the toner cartridge by pushing in the tab on the underside of the toner cartridge. Removing the locking plate will allow the developer roller to slide out, as well as access to the dr. bar and toner adder roller.
It is recommended to only use clean, filtered compressed air and a lint free cloth to clean the developer roller. 17.) To remove the developer roller, gently pull by the metal shaft until it is completely out of the toner cartridge.
The waste hopper unit consists of the wiper blade, PCR, PCR cleaner and chip. 18.) To gain access to and clean the waste hopper unit, remove the PCR and PCR cleaner by removing the two screws on the clear plastic clips (Fig, 13). It is recommended to replace the wiper blade each cycle. 19.) To replace the chip info. 20.) And your done and ready to print. We have had many cartridge that have been refilled more than 30 times.
